Print Industry In Need of Employees

Business Development

As their current employees are retiring from the print industry due to an aging demographic, the number of employees is decreasing. The print industry currently has a serious issue: There is not enough new talent entering the industry to meet the needs. Print companies are recruiting constantly, however, many people do not see working for a print company as a stable, flexible, and well-paying job.

Printing companies need quality workers; these kind of workers are hard to find and recruit as print programs at colleges and trade-tech’s have reduced enrollment, likely due to a lack of interest from the millenials. In order to adapt to this new reality, the majority of the employers are dropping the experience requirements, also known as “down skilling”, to gain next generation new employees.

As employers of the print industry continue to recruit people with experience in their line of work, one potential solution emerged to resolve this dilemma. Think Patented's Apprenticeship Training Program is designed to train newcomers in different parts of the industry including how to run printing and stitching equipments through hands-on experience while on the job.
