Rare 540-year-old book contains first printed maps

A copy of the “Rudimentum Novitiorum” from 1475 contains the world’s first printed maps. The volume was acquired by the James Ford Bell Trust and will be on exhibit at the James Ford Bell Library at the University of Minnesota until January 31, 2016. The volume is 474 pages long, and was considered to be an encyclopedia of the history and geography of that time.
